What is live sketching? – Easy Pencil Drawings Of Love

Live sketching is when you present your entire pitch online for people to watch and react to. In other words, you’re showing your entire pitch (except for images) on-stage so that your audience can see how it all comes together.

Do it at home:

Do you have to be in person? No. You can make a live sketch by recording it in front of a webcam and sending it over to your agent through your website and letting them get their agent involved. Most agent offices will already have video assistants on hand to create the presentation and take it to your agent.

Do you have to be a professional comedian? No. You can tell a good joke and still come up with the best sketch pitch. It’s very easy to create a sketch that’s fun, funny, and engaging and still be funny. There’s a lot to consider when sketching — what’s the topic you’re going to play? What kind of setup? Where will it be set? How will it be filmed? What style of comedy will you use? Some things to consider include the number of people watching, the number of cameras in attendance, how will it be used, how will it be edited, and what audience reactions could be expected.

Don’t rely on an agent

Now that you know the basics, it’s hard to overstate how important it is to have someone in your corner. In most cases, if you’re on your own, getting an agent’s professional approval isn’t that difficult. The thing about sending a sketch to an agent is that you’ll need a certain amount of advance notice before you even learn they have interest. Not only that, but once you have someone’s permission to send a sketch to a potential agent, it’s just a matter of time before a potential agent sees yours.

The good news is that most agents love sketch comedy and are willing to work with a fledgling sketch writer. If they can see your personality and take you as seriously as an agent should, you’ll be on your way to success. You don’t always have to spend all this time to create a perfect sketch, but it never hurts to try.

There’s no such thing as sketch genius. But your sketch is one of the few ways to go up against a professional.
