How do you make a ventriloquist dummy? – Learn Ventriloquism Dvdfab 8 Registration

Step 1

First take an empty cardboard box and fill it with about 3/4 to 1 inch of water, enough to cover the dummy. If the box is wide enough to put your head in, you’ll need about an inch of the water at least.

Step 2

Next cut the cardboard into 12 pieces and shape them into a cylinder 2-3 inches in diameter. Make sure the ends are all flush with one another and that your pieces can sit tightly on top of one another.

Step 3

Use the flat side of a ruler to score 1/2 inch or more into the middle of the cardboard, leaving 1/2 inch space through that space. Now you can mark where you want the vents to go.

Step 4

Mark the sides and bottom edges of the cardboard so that you don’t have to do it twice. The right edges will be just over 1/3 inch above your face.

Step 5

Next take a pencil and draw a line across the middle of the cardboard to represent the bottom of the dummy. Draw a notch on the side of the cardboard about an inch from the mark you made above to show that you’re not going to let air in.

Step 6

Measure out 3/4 to 1 inch in from the bottom edge and cut that into a 2-1/2 inch long piece. Again, don’t mark the bottom because its not important to it. The other end of the piece needs to sit straight against the bottom of the lid. Now the vent will look like this:

Step 7

Drill 1 inch holes for ventilation and the opening needed in the lid and top. Put each piece on the cardboard as close as you can to the hole you just drilled in the lid. If you’re trying to make the openings even more precise, use a drill bit that’s only a couple of inches away from the holes. This is a quick and easy way to make sure every bit of the lid fits correctly and isn’t sticking under itself.

Step 8

Mark your openings. You want the holes to be about 3 inches apart. If there’s only a little room for expansion, cut the vents in half. If you have a lot of room, remove the lid and lay flat so that when the vent is attached to the lid, there’s room for air to get past the bottom of the lid.
