However, if the player uses Mox Opal in a way that benefits her team, she may still use it to put another artifact (like a Siege-Gang Commander) onto an adjacent tile, which will make the action that the “move” would do work. The other important thing that Mox Opal can do is give other players an edge over other players at the start of the game, when they have fewer cards in their hand.

Additionally, Mox Opal allows players to start some of their turns on “favor” cards instead of a specific tile. Once this occurs, they can move the favor card to a different tile, in order to get the first benefit of their first action.

Lastly, Mox Opal gives players a bit of time to think before doing something they shouldn’t be doing (i.e. building artifacts as a first move), so they can have a longer conversation with other players about this strategy, or ask for help before deciding to
