I used to draw them to a “normal” level, for example, my normal eye level, but I have to draw the girl to “normal”… That’s what I think… the girl that I want to see naked….
You like to draw them like that?
I don’t need to “set them up” for a couple of hours. For a few years I do that! Then I want to draw them again….
Do you make any money out of your drawings like a pro?
No! No way! I just create the stuff and sell it!
So you don’t make money out of your drawings?
(laughing) Well, yes, I do make money when I have a new gallery opening or something like that. When someone sees my work I get a visit… that’s my money!
How does drawing a model’s nude work for you?
I always have a hard time… I can’t do it properly because I never know what to do with the model…. But for me it’s good! The next thing that I get a response from is about to sell it at a real gallery in Paris. When I see how people look at my works I think “Hmmm… I can use this. Let’s do another one.” What do I use to make the models nude again? For me it seems to be about this: I have to learn to enjoy them.
You’re doing this without any help from outside sources.
How do you learn to enjoy things like that?
Well, I have to be ready for that. I mean, I can enjoy it all along.
What about those girls from the nude modeling agency, the girls you did an advertisement for?
I have done them, but now I don’t use them at all. I try to have fun with my work, that’s why I have to make them naked to enjoy it…
They’re beautiful and they do things you’re not used to seeing…
It sounds like they really work hard. I’m always amazed how fast they will change!
