Well, a ventriloquist is simply a guy that plays with his own voice and then lets it be, and it really does not come up in our language. There are different ways of saying it like the French “vous ventriloire” and the American “voice over,” and these terms have changed over time, because they aren’t really the same. And so, a ventriloquist gets to be really different in the way that he puts himself together.
How does a ventriloquist make a ventriloquist?
The way they make it is really fascinating because these are really highly trained actors doing things with a real human voice. They go through a training and then they have these characters that they play—they have these performances that they do—on stage. And these are the performances that are really the best that they hear the most and that they are able to perform as well because they are able to put themselves out there and they’re able to see what their performance looks like because they are able to talk with the actors and they see the movements that they are doing. So, because of this, they can really give themselves, and their performance, this incredible, very authentic, really good voice.
And so a ventriloquist is really a very, very good actor. How does an actor take this to the next level? How do you make your actor a ventriloquist? Well, one way would be to play more characters that he plays, and a ventriloquist is really a very good actor. You can certainly make him a more extreme ventriloquist, to take some different aspects of ventriloquism and then to make him more extreme. He could probably go further.
How do you make a ventriloquist out of someone who is actually a great singer? What is the trick?
The trick is to put yourself in that situation where you are the one that’s playing an actor on stage. So you’re going through the process where you go through all the rehearsals and you do all these things, like we went through. And then, once you think you’re ready, then you put yourself in the situation where you don’t know where you’re gonna be, or what they’re gonna play, but you do know where you are. And when those people come into your life, or when they start playing with your voice, you are then able to feel that you really are in control of your
