A new group is seeking to bring the world’s largest cruise ship to the Pacific Northwest, offering a combination of luxury and adventure.
Sail of the Seas will use a combination of five of the world’s biggest cruise vessels, including the world’s largest, as well as smaller ships and two private yachts to deliver passengers from Oakland to Seattle, Portland and Vancouver in just under five weeks, offering four to six days of sightseeing and adventure through the Northwest.
The cruise ships will depart from Oakland and Seattle and arrive in Portland, Vancouver, Vancouver, Seattle, Seattle, Portland, Everett, Everett and Ashland in all directions. Guests will sail on the ship once or twice before heading to the mainland U.S.
Sail of the Seas will have a grand opening in Seattle on May 21. The group plans to open in Portland from Sept. 23-26 in time for the fall or winter season.
Sail of the Seas will serve the following regions: North America, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean and Panama. The cruises will run on two routes, one via Vancouver and the other via Seattle.
Other highlights include:
• The most expansive, luxury hotel on the West Coast – the Grand Hyatt Bellevue, located in downtown Seattle
• Access to several major attractions along the route: Seattle’s Space Needle, Discovery SeaBotanic Garden, SeaWorld and Sea Life.
• On Board Live Entertainment: Live acoustic performances from artists like the Foo Fighters and AC/DC and an exclusive concert series from country singer Dolly Parton and a number of local acts.
• Sufficient seating for more than 3,000 passengers, including 1,500 in suites on each of the sailings.
• Two full length restaurants – one at each end of the ship.
• The highest peak season of the year – September to March. Cruise season runs from February to September.
