I mean, I’ve seen it but I’ve never seen it in real life.

AVC: It wasn’t in the trailer, it’s hard to draw one.

B: It’s not like you can look at a cow and draw it. But it’s just like seeing a painting, but it just comes right out and there’s nothing you can do about it.

AVC: That’s a great line, that’s just what I imagined it would be like.

B: I’m not sure you know this, but [the cow] has a different personality. We call it Mr. Potato Head (laughs). It’s just very funny.

AVC: That’s the name.

B: Yes. What other ways do you use “Mr. Potato Head”? Well, here’s this little joke, which you guys know was in the pilot or we might not have talked about. In order to get that little stunt into the show, we had to cut our original version down. I just want to say, if you watch that in the trailer, it’s absolutely brilliant. You should watch it in the pilot. [Laughs] That was one of the first shows that I ever worked on in real life, which was when I was working at TBS. [On a subsequent occasion with TBS,] the producers would have me try to make the cow come up the hill, which the only way I had been able to figure was to have the camera on this thing that was on horseback. I was doing the math and it was like, “Man, I’m going to need a big tank. I had a horse in my life when I was a kid, man. Can I just get a horse?” But for me, doing it as a real-life show was also a big fun way of showing things you wouldn’t have ever imagined. It’s like a little experiment. It’s just been fun.

AVC: And I think it had a lot of potential. The first time we met that thing, we were just like, “Oh, it looks great. Let’s have it in the first episode.” But it was so funny to work with. It was really funny to sit there and watch it go up there. It was one of those, “Wow, this would be an awesome piece of equipment.”
