I’ll take another crack at it later, but here’s a brief overview of the steps and what you can expect to be able to do with it:
Create a class that implements the GetUser() and GetStatus() methods.
and methods. Pass an instance of this class to GetUserInspector. I usually call this class MyApplication ; it’s the class you used to get your application’s user information from the dashboard .
; it’s the class you used to get your application’s user information from the . Call the GetUserInspector.GetStatus() method when it returns a status that’s less than 200. (I’ll put that code in a different part of this tutorial so you can get the full code.)
when it returns a status that’s less than 200. (I’ll put that code in a different part of this tutorial so you can get the full code.) Now you can use MyApplication.GetUser(); to get a response of how many users left the application, and the GetUserInfo() method to get more information about the user. Note you can use this same GetUserInfo method on your new objects to create new objects, and it doesn’t have to return an object anymore; just call GetUserInfo.GetStatus(status) , like this:
var user = GetUserInfo(1000); console.log(user); // User 2, 3, or 4
When you call GetUserInfo(1000) you’re going to get all the user information you collected during this test. It won’t have any details about the application’s user interface, just the status in each of the methods of the interface. You can access these details like this:
string userInfo = GetUserInfo(1000);
As shown in that previous snippet, this information contains the name and the email address of the user to whom the application was issued, the current time, what web browser a user has open (they might even be a website!), and whether or not the user has set their avatar for a “new user” to show up at the top of the dashboard.
That’s it, after all those steps and all those test cases. That wasn’t long; it may take several days or more to do it all. This is the general way you can go about creating a test-suite if you don’t have any experience as an application developer or a test engineer. If the task was really simple (
