As you may have gathered from the last post, the recent decision last week by the New York City Commission to allow marijuana consumption at the restaurants known as “cannabis lounges” has been met by mixed reaction.
While the idea of letting cannabis eaters have a private place away from the eyes and noses of others is indeed a very nice one, it has prompted a number of negative reactions such as:
“Why not let cannabis eaters smoke outside on benches while enjoying their weed? Why not allow them to do something more legal?”
“The whole idea of these cafes is to have fun. But now, everyone is supposed to have fun with a joint?”
“I think the entire point of these cafes are to keep cannabis out of kids’ hands. Why do they need weed in them at all? I mean, I know they can smoke a joint, but how about a cup or a bottle, like other kids have done?”
“I don’t smoke pot at these cafes. If they want to allow you to smoke pot outside, let them, I don’t care.”
“What makes you so different from people outside who smoke their shit?”
