I’ve decided to not only do a quick run through of my past year of my last job but go through the process of making decisions on what I want to do next, and how I want to pursue that next career.
This post started as just something I thought about to be fun (this one is more personal than anything). The idea, I’m just not sure I’ll actually do, but I’m going to go through what I’ve decided, and share some of what I have decided.
The first decision I made was what else I wanted to do next. I have a love for video games, and I enjoy making them, especially the retro style of them. I’ve made a couple of videos with my old friends about making games, and they’ve become very popular on youtube. One of those videos I made was about making a game from a retro console (that I just released).
I haven’t done anything with that video yet, I have a lot of ideas, but I’m not quite sure what I want to do with it.
My next big decision was going back to school for my major. I’m also getting my Bachelor’s degree in business and economics with minors in psychology and computer science. I was thinking that I’d stay at this for a while in order to learn more about both the career and business side of things. I had a lot of potential projects on my plate, and it would be good to learn and apply more of my skills (in any field that requires that kind of skill).
The second decision was my next career choice. I’ve decided to go back to school to become a Software Engineer.
The Software Engineer job is more of a programming role. I’m familiar with Python, so I think I could get by with that on my own for a while. I haven’t even taken my Intro to Engineering classes yet, so I think I’ll probably take a lot more classes later in my degree.
What I’ll do for the rest of my life
I don’t plan on quitting. I don’t know how long I will be working at this, but I will stop working for the start of my next job. I’m not quitting just to be done with it, I’m going to make a plan of what type of job I want to work in. One of these
